Fundraising Campaign Gets Off to a Good Start

A campaign recently launched to raise at least £900 for an audio news and information service for visually impaired people, before the production of their 900th edition in November, has got off to a good start.

At the annual general meeting of the Wymondham and Attleborough Talking Newspaper cheques for £100 were presented to the organisation by Wymondham Methodist Church and Jim Cawte of Wymondham Lions, on behalf of Kevin Rodgers, District Governor of the Lions Clubs of East Anglia.

A spokesman for the charity, which relies entirely on voluntary donations to keep the service running, said that the group was delighted by this very positive gesture of community support.
