We have a number of volunteer roles, most of which are on a four-week rota. Volunteers receive help and training for their roles. To find out more, please contact us.
Editor
Takes articles from the local newspapers and other sources to compile an edition including:
Local news, local sport, letters, what's on, community news and other local material of interest.
Sound Technician
Records the edition onto computer and oversees the copying process when the master recording has been completed.
Administrator
Collects the returned wallets from the Royal Mail sorting office, checks these against a register of listeners and prepares the outgoing wallets for despatch.
Reader
Reads the previously-prepared material and assists with the checking of the recorded memory sticks at the end of the recording session.
Interviewer
Records interviews and features, using a digital portable recorder, for inclusion in the weekly or monthly productions.
Fundraising
We depend on donations to keep the service running. We make no charge to the users of our service. We need to raise funds each year to pay for studio rent, insurance and other running costs. All donations are gratefully received. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us.
